chile quinta escondida entrance

Every year, in early summer, which is just before Christmas, I look forward to the fat purple plums at the top of the garden; followed by the juicy yellow plums and firm golden apricots. The yellow plums are especially precious, because when I first came to the Quinta in 2008, they were so sour as to be inedible.

December is a great month to visit, because the weather is already perfect, but the tourist season does not begin until January, so prices are lower and the crowds are smaller. January and February are high summer, with blazing hot temperatures, while March is a gorgeous combination of warm pool days and fresh evenings.
